This years beneficiary is 8 year old Katie Grant of Williamstown, VT. She was diagnosed in July of 2008 with CML Leukemia. In 11 years I don't think Freezing Fun has come across a situation as unique as Katie's. Katie's mother is a match for a bone marrow transplant ( which is great news ), here's the catch. Katie has 2 sisters, 2 brothers and a sister due any day. They currently live in a 1973 2 bedroom mobile home. Due to Katie's current living arrangements the hospital is unable to perform the much needed transplant until Katie can have a room of her own. This is due to her immune system being greatly depleted following the surgery.
Through a generous contribution from Fecteau Homes, the proceeds from our event will be able toprovide Katie and her family with a new home following her surgery. We, Freezing Fun, just have to raise $30,000.00 ( last years event raised $25,000.00).

Cass recently met with a Canadian elementary school. Cass has inspired them to start their own Cancer fundraiser. A Snow Soccer Tournament and Jamboree. This will be held in Lac Brome, Quebec, February 20, 2010. For more info call Cass @ 802-249-7585.
This year Fairpoint Communications will not only sponsor teams from Vermont, but a team from Maine will be making the journey to the Barre Town Rec. Fields.

In the event that there is no snow for this years tournament, the tournament will go on!!! We are asking that participants do not wear cleats, or boot attachments for traction as we will not have the funds to repair the damage that these will cause to the fields. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!!
Freezing Fun For Families is proud to announce that Fecteau Homes has agreed to provide Katie Grant and her family with a new home. Fecteau Homes will use the proceeds from this years event to upgrade the home that Katie and her family currently live in, so she can receive her long awaited bone marrow transplant. The more money we raise, the better the home Feacteau can provide. Our goal is $30,000.00+
